iBooks, not for me!

Okay, so I thought I'd try reading on my iPad, I had actually made some time to sit down and read. I have had a book in my iBook library for some time now, I made a promise to myself that I would read it. So I sat down, read for about 20-30 minutes, then I forgot why I was reading! So I exited the book and spent the next half an hour on Facebook! Then after that 30 minutes I realised that I should be reading in this allocated time to do so. I then continued reading the iBook for about 15 minutes. But then I decided the plot was going no where and then spent an hour internet shopping! Which was much, much more fun then reading!

As a conclussion, reading on my iPad is a major distraction! Just one click of a button, and you can exit the book, and then you have the whole world wide web at the tips of your fingers! For the mean time I'll have to stick to a good ol' fashion paperback book! Love the smell of  books anyway! Haha!

The ghost of my reading past...

Reading is something I have mixed feelings about, I sometimes enjoy it, and other times, I don’t. I first started to learn to read at the age of 4. I started to properly read in Reception.  In my primary school, reading was set as homework, this encouraged me to read more. I enjoyed reading, and did it frequently until the age of 11. My favourite genre of book, is horror. But in year 4 and 5 I went through a phase of loving ‘Horrid Henry’ books, I read all the series of them! I also liked Jacqueline Wilson, like most girls did at the time! But I have always had an obsession for Horror. My first Horror book I read, was ‘Ravens Gate’, by Anthony Horowitz,  I absolutely loved this book and the book lead me on to reading more in the series.

But now, my reading habits are a different story! I haven’t finished a book in a year, in fact, I have five un-finished books, and they have been like that for a year now! I need a book to be gripping from the start, otherwise I get impatient, and I’ll most likely put it down and won’t pick it up again! I am hoping that this reading blog will encourage me to read more.
